70 years have gone since India has become independent, since morning whatsapp has been going bezerk with all the independence day messages, various groups flooded with messages what made me laugh out and smile the most was that we follow the same ritual each year on this day and the very next day all is but forgotten.   I am just curious today what does independence  mean to everyone, 70 years almost two whole generation of citizens who were born in free India are adults and more by now… including me, those who lived through those dark days have almost gone.

People have changed, ideology has changed BUT there is one breed of people that has Not changed OUR DEAR LEADERS the so called Gandhi followers , the little change that has happened is that these leaders have become more intelligent in how to loot the nation, Same old principles.

This is going to be a SHOCK for all reading this , I am a Indian and I think we should stop celebrating the Independence day .. the whole idea of or the reason of the celebration has been lost, In my mind or in my sense we started celebrating this day because the British LEFT us or GAVE us independence , The british went because they could not see any advantage of there stay Had they wanted they could have stayed anyway that’s not the point of this article..

We started to celebrate this day because we became a independent country to be governed by us Indians THAT’S IT.. But its been 70 years of celebration no one celebrates events for ever .. Especially when now we can sit back and think DO WE REALLY DESERVE IT ALL.

The few years in the start may have been good in-spite of the wars we had to fight, for the sole reason that we had Indians ruling us and No white skin to bow down to. There have been some commendable work done by some Indians, I say some because there are only a handful who actually work for the betterment or good of the country, but we as a nation have sidelined them too , Does any one know whats happening with ANNA HAZAARE Ji, he worked so hard but the people around him took advantage , one of them became a political leader won by a huge margin YET look at that same person now A POLITICIAN, the whole ideology lost.

Where are we now..

Were we not better off when we had British rule.. The reason I say is lets compare our nation with the Likes of Germany or Japan.. world war happened which left the state of those countries completely devastated.. Look at them NOW.. Can we compare even a single thing… India was not devastated True it was poor because of the wealth taken away BUT mind you British gave our country a lot, The roads they built then are still standing , Have a look at the road in each locality – in your own locality that were built just DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY, you will get the idea..

Railways was another thing given to us, Some of the narrow gauge rail tracks are still working , have a look at the condition especially in rural places, we have not been able to provide connection to those far away remote areas.

The people who gave their LIVES for the country had the right to say they love their country, How many of the people who have written big articles or commented how they love their country can actually go and give their life, HECK I don’t think I can go and die..

Yes our country is corrupt, Yes its far behind, Yes our country is dirty All this is true so time has come to STOP going GA GA over stupid things and shouting at foreigners who says India is dirty YES IT IS, I say so that does not mean I am not Indian or you love the country more than ME. Time has Come to WORK and FIX IT.. well actually the time was years back BUT never too late to start.  So what if a foreigner said India is dirty SO WHAT.. if it felt bad then maybe you should have gone and cleaned the place .. HECK I would do that I mayn’t have the guts to go and die for the country but I can go and clean the place and I have done it ..

AND FOR THE SAKE OF GOD, what irks me the MOST is the people who say how India is developing, How we are becoming a big economy THIS AND THAT blah BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH, the so called people who are living in a dream and have never ever EVER seen what is going on,  Let me give them a little example There is a little village that is next to the one that I belong to , In a Very influential district in Punjab , this district is very very influential now in the political scenario of the country, only this year they got the facility of WATER, filtered clean water.. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT after 70 years of  Independence and that too without the help from Government, We all got together the next project is to have proper drains for good sanitation.

What development is that , how is sending people to the moon or satellites going to help the person who has to walk for miles to get fresh water, GO ASK THEM.  Today being independence day why don’t you do one thing and go and ask these people how much they suffer.  We all each and everyone , people Living In or outside India, EACH ONE has to wake up and stop this FARCE.. IF we start now maybe just maybe in a decade or two we can start to celebrate the Independence day again when we again win our freedom this time from our own people, From US , FROM YOU from ME… it is still a maybe but then there is still hope…

I was reading an article where someone mentioned we should celebrate the day to pay respect to freedom fighters, Come on I say to them, Those freedom fighters did not give their life to get this day , they had different ideas, they gave their LIFE for US the new generation who shout at top of our voice when need be how proud we are to be Indians,

THE REAL CELEBRATION WOULD BE TO MAKE SURE WE BUILD THE INDIA THAT THEY HAD VISUALIZED

The likes of Sardar Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekar Azad, Rajguru ,Udham Singh (by the way did anyone know Death anniversary of Sardar Udham Singh was 31st July) and Plenty more whom history AND PEOPLE have forgotten who embraced death in their early age They were all Jewels of the country conveniently forgotten by History Manipulators , they had a dream of a GREAT NATION, of a GOOD NATION they gave the ultimate sacrifice THEIR LIFE, lets not let that sacrifice go to waste furling the national flag, singing the national anthem is not gonna achieve that, (we as a nation have even argued over the names of places in our national anthem, that is the sort of people we are 🙂  ) We have to start to WORK on making it better. We need to face the REALITY, till we do that nothing can be changed the first step to start changing or rectifying a PROBLEM is to Accept there IS A PROBLEM… if there is no problem then what are we rectifying NOTHING

If each of us takes just a couple of hours out  a week it can work wonders. The problem is we will not do anything, but the moment someone says this is wrong , that is wrong we all attack them like a swarm of bees.. What we DON’T Do is try to rectify the wrongness.

Mahatma Gandhi as we know was the best politician the world has ever had. Politics is the art of gaining what you want even when you are weak… But why call Gandhi as Mahatma I have not understood that, Because as far as I know or as history tells us neither his actions nor his character were impeccable. He did have a few skeletons in his cupboard too.

With each change in political scenario in the country the facts and slogans and Tamasha changes.. according to the will and wimp of the political parties ideology.

Some feel offended that Gandhi is blamed,  but Gandhi was not perfect, so what’s the harm in blaming Gandhi, he did make quiet a few mistakes, who doesn’t, So what’s wrong in blaming him, after all don’t we hear it that we Should be responsible for our actions.

Gandhi no doubt was a very good manipulator, a Politician par excellence.. I don’t deny that, But what I am against is giving a man so much importance when there are others who are equally deserving or MORE. So if they don’t get what they deserve then why is one man singled out for all this respect, If he said that youth like Sardar Bhagat Singh are damaging the image of the nation, then So did he.

March 23 came and went it was the 75th anniversary of the martyrdom of Shaheed Sardar Bhagat Singh. The reason I am mentioning him is that in those turbulent times.. It was HE who was as popular as Gandhi, I will say More than him, that is why the conspiracy theory that Gandhi did not do his best to save him from the gallows.

I myself feel that it has become a mockery with the way history has been changed, manipulated on what Bhagat Singh and many others did , How it helped the bringing of Independence. It is not correct to compare the paths of Bhagat Singh and Gandhi, even when the goal was same..

It is so very wrong to think that it was the Non-cooperative movement which made British  Leave India, the movement started by Gandhi. I think it was both the Revolt to take arms, the anger plus the movements of Gandhi that made the British understand that the time was ripe to vacate the Asian subcontinent for good

The likes of Sardar Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad, Rajguru ,SukhDev,Udham Singh and Plenty more whom history has forgotten, who embraced death in their early age, they were all Jewels of OUR country conveniently forgotten by History Manipulators.

Because of political changes history has been so badly manipulated that we still think it was only the indiscipline or non-cooperation movements started by Gandhi that helped in Independence, this is religiously followed in all walks of life in India even to this day.

WE forget that Today the same Congress , and the KHADI wearing people , The so-called people who are following Gandhi principles are the worst enemies we have… and These are the very people the young fire brand freedom fighters cautioned us about..

But we the people have not learned anything, I doubt if we will Learn too. I am sure EVEN GANDHI himself will be ashamed of the ways our politicians are behaving today, but then Gandhi himself was a Politician par excellence.
PS:- The spelling in the title are wrong I know .. WHAT Independence!!!!

As I woke up today I felt something different Not sure what but the day felt different, I sent a txt to a friend of mine here in uk to remind him about the 11am meet at the local club where a lot of fellow Indians who love their country were going to meet, as it is the Martyrdom day of three martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, We have this get together once every month, usually it is on a weekend but today was a special day. After all the three great men had given the ultimate sacrifice without a second thought, just for the love of the nation. How many can we count who have done that or COULD do it.

It brought a thought that imagine if it was 1931 what atmosphere it would have been that day, the frenzy of the people when they got to know that the three hero’s had been hanged and that they took to the gallows smiling. Been wondering sometimes, what it would be, to actually be alive during the times of Sardar Bhagat Singh. It’s one thing to watch the movies describing him, his ideas what he did, how it all happened, but to be actually there is different.

Thousands of people who stood outside the jail, waiting to hear a word about their heroes, Imagine the FEAR the rulers had , How afraid they were of the Three young men, IMAGINE if it was 30 Young men or 300 Young men, If that can be made true today, imagine what 300 Young men can do for the love of their Country.

I sometimes think if I was at that age, am I cut up for such sacrifices, would I be able to do what the heroes at that time did. Would I have had the courage to defy the Government at that time? Or would I be a coward running scared? or worst be an obedient citizen going about my daily chores of life without batting an eyelid, cause that’s what most were doing otherwise how could a handful of British rule so many.

It makes me angry when I see a tom dick and harry, a two-bit politician taking all the glory BUT my blood boils in anger when I think of the people in our nation , WE are a BILLION PLUS and yet we let the idiots rule us, brought a memory when BJP won the elections a few months back so much was being said about this will happen that will happen.. but WHAT HAS HAPPENED. We are still there , Look what happened a week back in Kolkata, to an OLD NUN 72 years old. That sums up everything on what we have become and WHAT great citizens we are of the great nation.

I am sure many of you will be saying OH this is isolated incident IS IT, every other week a gruesome atrocity is being done.. NOW just try to compare that with the days or the time in 1930-31, Imagine the JOSH, The vigour in the hearts of the YOUNG of that era, The love for the nation the love was so much they were ready to give their Life, Not RAPE the nation.

Yet people say we are advancing I am sorry it does not feel like that..

The youth of 1931 said Let us see how steadfast I am. One of my friends asked me to pray. When informed of my atheism, he said, “When your last days come, you will begin to believe.” I said, “No, dear sir, Never shall it happen. I consider it to be an act of degradation and demoralization. For such petty selfish motives, I shall never pray.” Reader and friends, is it vanity? If it is, I stand for it… (Bhagat Singh said that)

It was today so many years back that the youth of the nation showed the rulers that they were no longer afraid to walk the talk , to walk up to that platform where they would KISS death and smilingly happily die for the nation, Hoping to be reborn YET AGAIN so they could try once again to free our great nation from the chains it was bound by, yes THEY believed in that , pity today they will probably die of SHAME if re-born, to see the state of our nation. Where WE the people have brought it to.

Here we are in the year 2015 yet again on the same fateful day, how many of us remember the Brave three , who gave their life in a hope for a better future for us , the US who don’t deserve this freedom, the US who have never ever done anything for our nation and probably will never do, the US who are hand in glove with the corrupt , the bad the traitors .. YES i call myself and others a traitor for we are seeing all this happen in our nation yet we go about as if nothing has happened, we don’t bat an eyelid over what is going on …

The following is the comment that I got via a email in response the post And so it ended – The year was 1931, by Sukhwinder singh,  I could not reply to the question he has asked so I put it up as a post , so that my dear readers can reply to this please .. Thank you.

“Hello Bikramjit

I have been following your blog for almost more than a year now. This is the first time I have written to you.  The reason is that Often while reading some of your posts I have gone through the comments section just following your post.  The recent post on Bhagat singh had about 60 odd comments till the time I was writing this email and other than a few people many have not even answered the question you have asked.

Dont you think this is the attitude of the indian population in reality, No one has time to read about such people who are dead, who cares for them.  They are DEAD END OF.  I also went back to see a post where you had put a picture of a Women’s butt so many replied there.  Here you have written about a person who has helped us to get our freedom, Thats it,  Dont you think this is the mentality of indian people the BUTT is more inviting than reading about someone who is the reason why every indian now breathes in free air. Has a country to call his own…

A butt got more, than a post that talks of patriotism.

To answer you questions ..

jisme na nijh gaurav  na nijh desh ka abhiman hai woh nar nahin hai mritak hai nira Passu ke samaan hai..

You can see for yourself how much ABHIMAN an indian has in his own country , Sidhu is right on an average each indian is nothing but DEAD an ANIMAL

When will the time come when we will all stand up together and do something , or have we gotten so shameless that we are not dreading the day when we will also reach where these martyrs are now looking down upon us, what will we say to them when they ask us “IS this why they gave their lives”..  HOW – WHAT will we say to them ….

Yes we have become shameless.. YOU ARE WRONG BIKRAM, to say that we will also reach where these martyrs are , NO SIR these martyrs are somewhere , a special place where Waheguru is taking care of them, WE will never be there as we have made our nation a hell hole.. and so to HELL we all shall go ..

When will the time come when indians will start to think that Time has come to re-sow the guns in our fields.. as the little Bhagat singh did ..   That will never come sir.. as indians are too biased the moment one person thinks of sowing a gun in the field they will grass you , so they are in the good books of the authorities. or worse still use that Gun to kill you so they can take over what you own.

Not just the netas majority of the indians also wake up on 23rd to know someone was hanged, majority say WHO BHAGAT SINGH and I doubt if anyone remember Sukhdev or Rajguru.. if people dont know about Bhagat singh what all will they know of the other two Desh bhagats.
14th february went by, majority of us celebrated it as the day of love, but there was history made on this day especially for us indians, let me ask a question how many can remember what it was that happened , this day years back..  and please no googling.. no shame in accepting if you dont know, I did not know about it myself sadly, But I wont forget it again that is for sure

I am sorry here Bikram, But reading your replies to the comments I think you have got it wrong, the judgement was delivered on  7 October 1930, sentencing Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru to death by hanging.  This judgement was of 300-pages saying that Bhagat Singh’s participation in the Saunders’ murder was the most serious and important fact proved against him and it was fully established by evidence.

On 14th february mercy appeal was filed before Irwin. An appeal was also sent to “desh ka sitara, Gandhi” by prisoners to intervene, Irvin had recorded the following lines on this

“While returning Gandhiji asked me if he could talk about the case of Bhagat Singh, because newspapers had come out with the news of his slated hanging on March 24th. It would be a very unfortunate day because on that day the new president of the Congress had to reach Karachi and there would be a lot of hot discussion. I explained to him that I had given a very careful thought to it but I did not find any basis to convince myself to commute the sentence. It appeared he found my reasoning weighty.”

This also adds to the conspiracy or the Truth how much Gandhi helped, Gandhi was more bothered of the karachi congress session which was to be held on 24th march the original day of hanging of the revolutionaries. No wonder he was shown black flags and boo’ed off in that session, He had no answer to the questions posed by the young indians.

We are a group who organise a Akhand Path  on the Death anniverasy of Shaheed Bhagat singh, Shaheed Sukhdev and Shaheed Rajguru each year on 23rd march, It would be a pleasure if on your visits you could come over ,  We also have similar Paths for other revolutionaries.

I hope and wish more indians know about them. Hopefully with the likes of you who are very active in the blog world more and more people will know about the revolutionaries.  I liked your post on the Slut walk you are right people have nothing better to do then go on these rally’s when the people who actually go through the pain still dont know what it was all about, Where were all these people on the black day in history of India did any of them even remember that the Freedom they have to go on such rally’s is all because of young revolutionaries who gave their life for the air of freedom ?

Inquilab zindabad…

Regards

Sukhwinder Singh.

That is what He believed in , Today the 23rd of march, 1931 Three freedom fighters of our great nation were EXCUTED by hanging until death by a government that ruled us for so many years,  Today was the day when the british raj was shown how we the youth of the our nation were no longer afraid to walk the talk ,  to walk up to that platform where we would KISS death and smilingly happily die for the nation, Hoping to be reborn YET AGAIN so we could try once again to free our great nation from the chains it was bound by..

When will the time come when indians will start to think that Time has come to re-sow the guns in our fields.. as the little Bhagat singh did ..

The reasons why the martyrs gave their life, the reason why they kissed the rope that was to go around their neck to hang them till death, we have forgotten all those reasons..  SO many years went by before the govt of india could decide to have a statue of Bhagat Singh, in the parliament, While the Chief ministers of some state have done nothing but put statues of themselves all over the state.

Come 22nd march they all run around cleaning those statues of  martyrs, and the irony is that, the one who comes to put a garland on these statues is a NETA, a khadi wearing politician who has tons of criminal cases against him/her. .. Sad is the situation that although our nation is free yet to get anything done we need to find a minister whose call will get the job done.
