This is a shocker, I got an email from a lovely friend of mine which had a link to it on you tube.. She had asked me to see it and confirm if this was true what was being shown on the video.. Well I saw the video and It has shocked me , I had no clue things were this bad. The video showed people young guys being interviewed by a SIKH CHANNEL, as to the way they were living..

The kids were living under a bridge in open, in this weather its freezing outside .. How the hell are they living there .. The interview and a few personal phone calls made have brought some very unhappy and sad things out in the open. The pathetic situation of our boys and it’s not just the sikh or Punjabi boys it’s a lot of people from india .. what was more shocking was talking to a Girl too who was in that situation. I could not believe my ears what I was hearing.

The worst thing is these people are sleeping out in the open just a little distance from a Sikh Gurudwara Sahib and a Hindu temple, How sad can it be that OUR religion teaches us to show pity on poor and help the needy YET we are doing nothing for these kids. DOES IT MATTER

1. WHO THEY ARE

 2. HOW THEY HAVE COME TO THIS COUNTRY

The couple of phone call conversation I had were chilling, I was enjoying this festive season and did not even know about so much suffering of these people, I mean shame on me ..

So much for the so-called people who are supposedly the leaders of our community in this country , THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE POLITICIANS OF OUR NATION. I saw a few interviews by some supposedly rich people on the channel going on and on an on how to help the kids BUT NONE OF THEM HAS DONE ANYTHING SO FAR.

None of the Holy places are doing anything either or if they are doing then it is NOT ENOUGH.  It was surprising and shocking to hear that some kids have not taken a bath for months as these temples are not letting them in, HOW CAN THEY DO IT.

The Gurudwara Sahibs- temples other holy places are supposedly the house of GOD where NO HUMAN BEING should be stopped to enter , everyone has an equal right( especially in a Gurudwara sahib), but as usual the leaders and the office bearers are more interested in getting the MERC or the AUDI from the money they earn from these holy places, rather than spend the same money on the welfare or the people who need it NOW.

What is the need of spending so much money to do extensions to the already huge buildings, I mean what good is that , should that money not be spent on the welfare of the people, I would request each and everyone who go to the holy places to stop doing this, Start asking the questions why is the money that is donated spent like that and wasted on materialistic goods. Is it not worth spending the money in building a BATHROOM where the people who are sleeping outside in open CAN have a BATH at least .

It is OUR FAULT , the fault of common people too, we in are constant Race to be in the good books of GOD, give money but no one gives a damn where is that money being spent or how is it being spent. Yes I have given my 11 pounds or 100 pounds, to make GOD smile at me. The money slowly makes its way to the pockets of the so-called care takers of our religion , none of our problem..

Sikh gurudwaras are so RICH, They have so much money in their banks why don’t they hire some houses, build halls where at least the people who have been stupid enough to come leaving their warm home for the dreams of pasters greener , can at least sleep in the warmth. Every leader or office bearer comes and promises EXACTLY like a politician back home , only to disappear once the speech finishes.. Any wedding I go to the caretakers are always asking for donations , for this building fund that fund.. I MEAN WHY it makes me so mad , and whats worse is people yes US LOT , standing there and making a BEE LINE to give that donation , OH YEs god is looking at us , he is happy.. I AM SORRY BUT I WISH AND PRAY THAT GOD DOESN’T GET HAPPY AT SUCH ACTIONS.

People here in uk are LOADED they are multi rich yet they wont do anything for anyone , but then I guess that’s how they have become rich by not giving or spending.

Also those who are reading this post back in india PLEASE FOR GOD SAKE , Stop this madness of coming abroad , Things are not so good,  I know most of you wont believe me you will all come or try to come .. but in that case come with a return ticket , check things out .. at least have a way to get back .

I am not sure what the SIKH channel has done for these people, I will do some more enquiries about that and put it up. But I doubt if anything would be done .. In our culture we are quick to portray the problems, the miseries of others but when it comes to help we first see how much We will benefit from this all AND then help others.

Really sad after hearing about all this, the lure of greener pasters is bringing so much misery for these young men. 10 class FAIL in india have managed to get further studies visa’s , by giving money to agents and all. How are the people who have looted these kids , put these kids in so much misery sleeping at night.. Tonight when they sleep in the warmth of their BED .. I wish every window in their house cracks open so they can feel the CHILL of the Cold in their bones .. and they remember that these boys are sleeping out in the open in that COLD CHILL.

I am not asking you to view the video but just in case you want ot check it out yourself ..

My Jeep back Home

Here :-

Jeep Here in Uk 🙂

Weekend I was away and had gone to meet my cousin and his wife who have recently got married and trying to settle in UK, They had come with a group of students to do nursing about 5 years ago, got there degrees. got jobs and Settled here. I use to laugh with my cousin cause he was the only male nurse and the house they had hired had 4 girls and him alone.. (oooooh , though he did not like the idea later on ). Slowly as with everything people moved here and there , He fell in love with a girl and two years ago they got married.

But this note is not about them, Now they have a friend lets call her “X” who has been sharing the house with them since the day they all came to uk, before that too in india they were all together, its like family with her now,”X” is educated , completed her degree and has a job in the national health service. Last year her parents decided to get her married…

As usual a rishta came from a very close relative of a Boy who was Handsome, Good Looking , Very humble, Intelligent blah blah blah , it was as if he lacked nothing, the only thing was he had failed in 10th class exams and had come back from dubai after working as a carpenter. OK no worries I am all for seeing the good , so what if he was uneducated.. what irked me the most was “X”  is educated why did she say yes to the rishta.. I am sure there are enough educated people, I guess the peer pressure and the age-old problem we have the girl is getting older (she is only 26)..  had a lot of influence on the decision.

So she got married every thing fine, the marriage was in india, I did not go to the wedding, she stayed with the guy for 3 weeks before she was to come back for her job, then the process started of getting the guy here to uk, the first time the visa got rejected , so we went for an appeal, thankfully the visa was granted, and in december 2010 the guy came to uk.

For some reason or the other I did not ever meet him as they live about 4 hours drive from where I live.  I am a very outgoing person and I respect my relations a lot ,”X” calls me Veerji as in elder brother and when you know someone for so long they are family, I was looking forward to meeting her husband.

I reached  my cousin’s house friday late night , went in and as usual I asked the whereabout of this guy, to be told that he has been asked to leave or sent packing more like it for almost a month now .. and then started the stories what this so-called Quiet, handsome, good-looking .. Sau Munda , had been up to. To my horror he was torturing “X”. Since everyone was working odd times he would pick his time .. Torturing her when she was alone…

Asking her for money.. Asking her to get a new house.. so much so demanding here to give the car keys as he wanted to go for a ride.. I was shocked when ever I had called on phone they would say he is very quiet, doesn’t talk much.  NO wonder he did not.  My cousin also got him a job within 3 weeks of him coming here , a DECENT one he was getting around a Thousand pounds a month which is a lot of money in this part of the world.

He even got a Knife out and threatened to kill her or himself and then Hit her too, I MEAN WHAT THE HELL.. I must tell you here I had a fight with”X” why did she not call, the moment he hit for first time she should have called I would have sorted this $%£$%^ like anything, I mean in spite of me asking continuously she could not answer me , as to why was she bearing this for 3 -4 months that he was here all she said was at time she picked the phone or tried sending me a message but never sent it through.

Why would someone bear this,  This left me a bit disturbed what sort of Psycho people are out there who treat another human being like that .. and PLEASE for the sake of GOD all those who will come out with this man woman theory , how woman are not treated equally Please don’t …

All this had come out a month ago, my cousin had come to visit me with his wife for 6-7 days, things got worse than as “X” was alone at home, so when my cousin returned he was told , He is like me  immediately called the police and the Guy was asked to vacate the house and “X” could accompany him if she wanted to, THANK GOD “X” took a stand that day and refused to go out, she did not want anything to do with this guy so the guy has been sent back to india.

NOW this Guys Mother and sister I can’t tell you what all theories they have come out why their brother has been sent packing.  According to them its all “X” fault she should have adjusted, I mean they are themselves Women don’t they see how their son is, The mother further added that the son did good, she will find another Wife for her precious son.

When told the son hit “X”, the mother replies that its early days once they get to know each other better the son will be fine, “X” should make more effort.

The son had not told his parents he has been asked to leave , he told them he came on his own, so the Mother says he should have stuck it out for 2 more years and divorced “X” once he got permanent residency in UK. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT.. what sort of women is that..

What made me laugh the most this guys mother asking “X” parents to return all the gifts exchanged at the wedding, The sister then says “X” was having an affair with my cousin.

This went on for 2-3 weeks, now they want “X” to give their son a second chance HELLO, did I hear right.. he lands in UK, I will F____ break his legs, and they want a second chance.. How will they like if their daughter is treated like that by her husband.  Hypocrite people.

I could see the pressure on “X”, it’s so much, thankfully her parents have left the decision to her and side with her on this, which is again a miracle cause usually parents don’t side.

Me and “X” had a heart to heart discussion on this, I told her that I support her, given her my phone number in case they don’t stop ringing her from india, But I have this funny feeling peer pressure.  I have told her point-blank that if she gives him a second chance or want to live with the guy then she will have to go on her own. I hope I gave her the correct advice.

It amazes me what people do and what does it mean to get married or about the promises people make to each other ..  I am horrified at the way people think god knows how many people are there who think this way ..

I decided to do this on mondays been very inspired by fellow bloggers especially NU, since she comes out with some beautiful hindi songs.. I am going to do these with Punjabi songs, since not many blogs are catering for this, although the whole of india listens to the punjabi bhangra numbers especially on occasions .. I have been to a lot of places and its funny watching people dance to the songs.. especially down south 🙂 But out country is so diverse KUDOS to the great nation..

Most of you if you listen to the song carefully, you will understand

A guy reminiscing his Village, how the days were …

Pind diyan Galiyan :- the streets of my village

Have fun people .. Hope you all understand.. I have put the lyrics too

Bachpan Chala Gaya, Jawani Chale Gayi                           (Childhood has gone .. Youth has gone too)

Murh Murh Yaad Satave Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di
Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di, Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di

Jehre Vaaje Vajj Gaye Murh Ke Vajjne Ni                                   (The songs that were sung wont be SUNG AGAIN)
Manak Hadh Muka Gaya Naviyan Kalliyan Di                           (Kuldeep MANAK is a old singer who sang when insturments were not                                                                                                                         there)

Murh Murh Yaad Satave Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di
Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di, Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di

Je Gurdas Nu Tu Marjaane Kehndi Na, Oh Ni Maaye Meriye        (if my mother had not loved me)
Marjaane Di Pora Keemat Paindi Naa                                                     (No one would have know who i was)
Rarhak Maarni Paindi Surme Dalliyan Di                                             (before we put SURMA in our eyes we have to grind it fine)

Murh Murh Yaad Satave Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di
Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di, Pind Diyaa Galiyaa Di

I have been living in the UK for quite a few years now, over the years I have seen a lot of changes take place both with the attitude of the people living here and those who want to come abroad. I am sure a few of you reading will disagree with me over the issue that loads of people are doing their utmost legal, illegal or whatever means to get out of India, be it educated , uneducated or whosoever. You find all sorts of people spending all their life savings to get out of the country. I am not going to argue or start writing here about the reasons why they are doing so, cause there are umpteen reasons and NO these people are not traitors or otherwise that they are leaving the country.

Anyway the reason for this note is the terrible conditions of our people out here , I did write a note earlier too the living conditions and work conditions being faced by majority of the people coming, I had told the story of my cousins who have come over, well let’s say it does not look very good for them. One of my cousins did get a job as FARM HELP, now then I have to have a little laugh here, the reason why he came to this country was to get away from working on the farm back home, they have land and all but NA can’t do that, perfectly happy to work in a farm as a HELP here cause he gets about 4 -5 pounds.. How sad is that…

But then none of the people back home want to listen to this, I go to the gurudwara sahib here and see all these young people coming in for food , god knows how they are managing the roof on their head, the situation of girls is really pathetic won’t go into details on that ..

Anyone who wants to get some work done at home can go and ask these people to work for them for anything between 10-20 pounds A DAY. Yes people you heard it right, A DAY and they will come and do anything for the day from gardening to cleaning to ironing… The reason I am saying is because I got asked by a lovely girl and a guy if I had work at home that they could do, I said no since I am rarely at home with my job and extra work, they started to plead explaining how good they are and how trustworthy they are .. I felt quiet bad but there is nothing that I could do for them other then politely refuse, but this is happening.

I was reading some news about the pathetic situation of people in London especially Southall, where a vast majority of population is Asian, no wonder it’s called Little India, It the same story as when India was known to be the GOLDEN BIRD, how every other nation came to plunder it of its prosperity, in the new era England was supposed to have  ‘streets paved with gold’ , but not anymore … one needs to see the ques in front of local gurudwaras to see the situation, one good thing though everyone is friendly no talk of being a hindu-muslim or sikh .. All are equal standing in the queue for the free langar.

People are sleeping in BINS, or even phone booths Yet the mass influx or the want to come to LONDON one of the richest cities in the world is increasing day by day, I also remember telling one of the friends in India about the situation, there reply was “I am jealous, I don’t want them to do good as I did”..

A few months back there was some sort of pity or what you call sympathy for these people who had come to pastures green, but over time I have seen this sympathy going down… as a few localites here feel that they dont have any compassion for these people as this is SELF-INFLICTED,

1. Why is there such an urge to come here…?

2. Why can’t people work as hard as they work here back home

3. Why can’t they work with same respect?

4. Why can’t you work in your OWN FIELD?

With the opening of borders for Euro union it has become very hard for outsiders to get a job, as the job has to be advertised to Europeans and then to others, with current economic scenarios, lots of jobs have been lost, thousands have been made redundant.

Please please All who read this, Please make sure before you or anyone you know who are contemplating to come abroad, you have the facts right, Do your spade work, find out if it is really any worthwhile coming all this way, Wasting the hard earned money of your parents or even putting them under Debt.

Everybody hopes to live in a better environment socially and economically. But it’s not possible for people to get that without struggle. It is the responsibility of the person to determine how much struggle is justified for the cause. The cause can’t be worth it, if the existence occurs merely from hand to mouth.

Ok people an update on the previous article I wrote London Dreams

My cousin after visiting places finally got 2 or 3 avenues to go… He was introduced to a person who works for a Bakery. Which was about two hours drive from Birmingham.

First they asked him to get a bank account set up, we went to the bank for some reason my cousin wanted to open an account in the Indian bank “Punjab national bank” that have a branch in Birmingham on Soho road. We went there They would not accept the Indian passport as form of Identity, How weird is that, An Indian bank will not accept a INDIAN PASSPORT WOW..

Anyway we were told they need a UK Address, Mine will not work because for proof they need some official document with my cousins name and UK Address, Now how do we do that, someone suggested getting my Electric or Gas connection in his name, Called the board to do so Guess what they asked.. YESSSSS  Proof of address and a Bank account for direct debits — Catch 22 or what ..  Then came a suggestion to apply for a provisional license… when it comes back it will have the address and name .. So applied for it.

6 days later the license arrived, another trip to bank, To our surprise they need TWO proofs, why the guy did not tell us on first visit god knows, I guess the Indian mentality of making people come a few times is still there in them. By this time I was pissed off by the guy, I had a few words with him, after 2 -3 minutes his English finished, he turned to Punjabi, his manager came apologized.

We went home this time applied for a national insurance number, everyone needs it to work in uk, luckily there was nothing required by the UK Office, just a name and address, the NI number came in 4 days. So now we had two proofs of addresses.

THIRD trip to the bank was successful, phew …

After all this again my cousin went to these job people, they were happy he got the bank account, but oh they forgot to mention the NI number… He needs to get that now… BUT VOILA yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy we were one step ahead, we already had it… showed it, The guy did not have anything to say, I guess he thought he has put us off for another week, so it was
“KAL nu phone kariyo 1:30 Waje” call me tomorrow at 1:30…

Tomorrow 1:30 came, called ooops he forgot to tell , the cousin needs to have a medical card too, Till all this was going on They had not told where the job was, Hours of Job, Money. Why would they want the medical card I have no clue, so we went to my GP, talked to the lovely lady at reception, My GP plays hockey with me so it did not take long to get registered with him, we had the card in a hour.

Back to the guy, he could not think of anything else so, Job was there , they will pick up my cousin at 6AM in morning , 2 hours drive, work there for the 10hours shift , then drive back.. To start next day again… And LISTEN to this they will pay £4 an hour, with one hour taken off for lunch.

The reason to point this out is, he is living with me so he has no rent, no electric-gas, council anything to pay for, or even pay for the food. If he had to pay for all that DO YOU THINK IT’S WORTH WORKING SO HARD… and being PAID PEANUTS… To start at 6 he is getting up at 5 in morning and each day he reaches home around 9 or 10pm depending on traffic and all others who need dropping off from the van. Last week for two days the bakery stopped working for 3- 4 hours due to the current economic conditions, they don’t have that much orders, so he is NOT paid for those hours.

It is true that he will get £4 or £5 an hour which is roughly about Rs.400 an hour in India, That is a LOT of money… but then a Loaf of bread here is between 75p to £2 depending on brands, a cauliflower is for £1, that is ONE PIECE. A Single mango fruit is for 99p. I am sure you will get the idea suddenly £4 an hour is not enough money.

I think people in India forget that though earning pounds, you need to spend also in pounds…

Anyway people London dreams are not that lucrative anymore… so THINK…

By the way my cousin is on phone for another job will tell about that laterzzzz
