To Roast or Not to Roast

I have been reading a few blogs and articles on the famous AIB fiasco.. I call it a fiasco because I want to use the same choices words used by the famous personalities to their face and see how they react to that.. BUT hold on before I do that Let me put a disclaimer here LEST people get offended , we cant have that now can we.

Disclaimer can be rubbished so I have another WEAPON that I can use to Justify the use of the beautiful romantic language used and that my friends are the beautiful three words “FREEDOM OF SPEECH“.. and if that speech hurts someone’s sentiments, or hurts any things then $%^£$%^£%$%%&^&^ you get the hint, yeah I know I am a hypocrite I should have used the lovely word used by the famous celebrities instead and I am sure none of you would have got offended. HOW can you after all freedom of speech, But hold on let me put the Disclaimer ..

Disclaimer:- This POST is not for those who get offended over ANYTHING, the moment you feel offended by what I have written or WHAT I MIGHT SAY ON YOUR FACE, OR TO YOU please look somewhere else or do something else. Anything I say or write or do is my Fundamental right, Don’t ask me to not to. Even more If I am abusing you in PUNJABI or HINDI you cant get offended as I will be using my mother tongue and using my mother tongue is my BIRTH RIGHT. and it does get included in FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

(Any solicitors -advocates or INTELLIGENT people reading the above Disclaimer can you please tell me if this covers every angle , don’t want a law suit against me now for something stupid like this, something so small as using offensive language, after all we are all ADULTS and INTELLIGENT and MATURE).

So my views on the program involving the Celebrities, the people who are in public eye, people whom many idolise and THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SOME RESPONSIBILITY because of the nature of their work or life they lead. So let gets it out of the way first what I think of them, THEY are a BUNCH OF IDIOTS. I did not expect such language from them (another thing I forgot was EDUCATED people), How can someone in SANE mind really support such atrocious language, How can it be justified in the name of Freedom of speech or saying the program had a disclaimer.

Yes we have a choice to listen or see the show , Yes we could have changed the Channel yes this yes that.. Hoo haah.. BULLOCKS..

My question to everyone who is all supportive and going GA GA over the episode.

1. WILL THEY ALLOW THIS LANGUAGE in their own house

2. Will they themselves USE this Language

3. DO YOU use this language Yourself, if NO then WHY NOT.. WHY are you yourself not using it BUT you support this.

4. What would be your reaction if I used this language in front of you.

5. AND to create another Controversy – WILL the same people say or talk about this freedom of speech blah blah the same way if A MAN is using the language for a LADY.. or a MOTHER IN LAW is using the Language for a Daughter in law – Vice Versa.

Why do people start to talk about sexism- the age old MAN-WOMAN issues – After all it could be the right use of freedom of Speech, so what if it offends you, LOOK THE OTHER WAY or better still change your way.

The sole reason and what has made me angry at the show is the participation of these celebrities because I genuinely feel that they have a responsibility being in the public eye, they got to live up-to the expectations of the people, THAT is the Life they have chosen, that is what they are getting PAID for , YES it does not matter to me if a tom-dick-harry talks such rubbish language because he/she is a nobody, BUT these people. NO.. so many people follow them and try to emulate them, Look up to them what sort of message are they sending out.

IF this is me being hypocrite then I AM, this is not what was taught to me or this is not what I have learned, obviously what these guys have learnt is simply pathetic, THEY ARE THE BIGGEST hypocrites trying to be someone they are not.

And then I read another funny thing how some people are being targeted for openly speaking against it Well isn’t that their right , the so called freedom of speech to say what they think, Why are their actions being noted and they being called hypocrites.

In the name of Comedy these people used such atrocious language, what was worse was there were so many in the audience clapping, and I thought that an Actress like Deepika Padukone was sophisticated ALAS she turned out to be just the same , she is definitely off my list. I have been to some beautiful stand-up comedy shows never ever have I heard such a language, I have been in situations where people have used filthy language but never this Filthy. Even a Drunk or someone high on drugs who is about to get arrested does not use this language.

I am sorry that was not comedy it was a SLEAZY SHOW which sadly was being telecast, Another Question (oh god I am asking so many questions, ) to all those

6. Would you sit with your MOM or DAUGHTER or SISTER (if you are a man) .. DAD or BROTHER or SON (if you are a woman) ( got to ask about both lest someone reading points out I am being sexist now).. and Watch this program. You are all adults.

I am sure that GOOD – RESPONSIBLE people would have kept themselves away from this, maybe it was a cheap publicity stunt Actors are like politicians they will do anything for MONEY or to be in public eye, Here is another thought if the same language is used by a Politician will you VOTE for them still.

Week 4- A Family Member

52 weeks of Gratitude .. Week 4 Says the title is “A FAMILY MEMBER”

From the previous post it is fairly obvious that I am a family man sort of person , who believes a lot in family as a whole, and to pick one family member is a bit difficult for me , as whatever I am , who I am has all been because of the constant hard work done by a lot of family members.

I can definitely not choose between my Father and Mother , well they are the reason I am here :), had they not been together and done what they needed to do I would not be here writing this post.. So good or bad, HERE I AM 🙂 Which reminds me of a famous saying

“Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a daddy.”

I wrote an article a few years back on fathers day, When I was growing up I am sure I missed a lot of chances to tell my parents that I love the,, Rather being a typical kid I don’t think I ever said to them.

I am not sure why we, especially the kids from my generation never were so close to their Father, It was always the mother one was close to, although ways are changing fathers are spending more time with kids, getting to know them. We even have a organisation called justice for Father’s, because I feel even the law has been biased towards the mother all these years, during a separation or a divorce it was an obvious choice for the kids to be handed over to a mother. Anyway that is a different topic to talk about.

Coming back to the topic on hand, Gratitude,I am so very thankful to my parents for doing their best always to make sure I am provided for, I have studied in one of the best schools in india in those days, which was not very cheap. The tuition fees , hostel fees amounted to a lot of money, The school sent bills every 3 or 4 months, it was paid right on time every time, I had never seen my parents say anything about it ever, I mean I get bills now sometimes for the house Electricity or gas bills , many a times the thought comes to mind that if only it came next month, I would be better off. But I don’t think I ever saw it on my parents.

There is another thing I want to say here, this might be a SHOW off statement too, But my father was a Govt. official and in a position where a lot of money was involved, I know every child will probably say that about his parents but I am sure my father earned his money the hard way, reminded me the day he got retired, there was a party organised. The amount of people that came and even today when I go to India I meet so many people who remember him .

Mom on other hand was a typical Punjabi woman who got married when she was just 17, I am also sure she did not have a choice who to marry , it was probably the same as is for every other woman, her dad found the man she was to marry and from a village she came to a city. Where she lived her life as a house wife.

When things were hard for the parents after the Step family split and my father left everything to his step family, I was only 7 or 8 , remember clearly those times, starting afresh and just one person doing a job, I bet the lure to earn money would have been so much at that time but I am glad he remained true to his principles, Mom started helping by Knitting, she started this little school where she taught a couple of ladies how to Knit, the little tuition money helped a lot . Slowly things started to work out , we had moved into a one room house, it was the four of us Also in those days My mother’s younger sister was doing her degree in Chandigarh , she use to stay with us, so it was a lot of people in a little place.

Dad started to build an extra rooms in the part of property that we had, and in probably a year or so we had a three bedroom house which was big enough for us all. I am not sure what to write or continue writing there are so many things ..

All I can say is I am proud to have the parents I have, I hope they are proud of me. I just pray to god that he gives me the strength to not do anything that would hurt their sentiments.

January Blogathon – Othe amla de hone ne nabede kisse na teri Zaat puchni

January is over and although I tried my level best to remain true to the rules of the blogathon , I failed a few times to post a post each day of the month, So sorry for that to the fellow participants and Congrats to all who managed to do it all..

I wanted to finish this little run with something that I believe in and want everyone who comes here to know. I am going to introduce you all to a person who all his life worked for the goodness of human beings, his selfless devotion to mankind. His name is Bhagat Puran singh. Not many KNEW about him because he did not have a AUDI with a Red light atop, He did not wear Silk or Saffron clothes, like every other TOM DICK AND HARRY claiming to be the righteous one.

SADLY we the people have always been lured to the magic of MONEY the magic of SHOW OFF, or SHOW BLITZ.. hundreds million of us go to the Temples – Gurudwara’s to worship, Ask god for this or that all the time , we all seem to get this false happiness in our heart that OH today we visited a holy place so god will be happy with us, We do various things to please the almighty YET we all including me seem to forget the basic teaching given to us by our God’s which says be a good human being, help others do what you can with your heart. NONE of us do that , we go about following the so-called BABA’s , the modern-day BABA’s who have tarnished the reputation of religion to a very low low level.

I have a good friend who is so happy that he boasts that every sunday he goes to the Gurudwara for two hours for SEWA, He stand and helps in washing of utensils, distribution of Langar, Clean the floors BUT I AM SORRY this is not SEWA, not at all, How can it be. Sewa is towards the needy, helping of fellow humans, MAJORITY of the people who visit the religious places are well off and can take care of themselves, So serving them food is not SEWA, or washing their utensils is Not SEWA, he has never done that in his own home.

Anyway Coming back to this man who was in Reality a man of god , and worked all his life in selfless devotion of other humans. HOW many know about him and compared to that how many know about the Rampal’s the nirmal’s. This is the hard truth people who actually work for the good of Man kind are seldom known. What have the so-called BABA’s EVER done which is good of mankind, NAME or Give me one such incident where ACTUALLY these so-called BABA’s have done anything for good other than become RICH.

Same goes for other charities, I think the best paid JOB or BUSINESS is to open up a charity, all the money we give to these charities hardly reaches to the people for whom the charities are set up, the so-called directors of charities are always RICH and MILLIONAIRES.

Our Religious Leaders are always so rich, How come they have so much money, Why are their so many fights over the ownership of a Religious place’s office, because of the Money involved, Today if everyone vows to stop putting money in the money-box of a temple or a Gurudwara all these committee members, the Pardhan’s, The Leaders will VANISH. God does not need money so WHY Are we putting all this money in the money boxes, When has God said give me money , I need money.

It is our fault that we have made it like this, we are so happy to go and put some money in a money-box in a temple, but we would not go out of our way to help a needy person, or even to feed a hungry person. Hence the business of religion has started were we feel that because we have given some money or a lot of money to a religious place , we have done a good deed, God will be happy with us..

People who actually work hard for the good of mankind that too selflessly are rarely rich or have the money to throw around.

Bhagat Puran Singh was born on June 4, 1904 in Punjab. he has dedicate his life to the ‘selfless service of humanity’. He founded Pingalwara in 1947 with only a few patients, the neglected and rejected of the streets of Amritsar., The govt of india takes so much appreciation for the so-called Green revolution but this man was actually An early advocate of the movement, He was spreading awareness about environmental pollution, and increasing soil erosion long before such ideas became popular in our country,.

He founded a HOME called Pingalwara, a home which long after his death, is still tending to the castaways of society: the sick, disabled and abandoned forlorn people.

It is sad that our governments and leaders go on and on how the needy need to be helped, how they spend so much money for the good of needy, YET none of the so-called CHARITABLE organisations have gone out of their way to help Pingalwara, We the people even will go and donate hundreds , thousands to a Temple or a Gurudwara, A Sadhu comes at our door we will give money to them BUT We hardly take out time to give money to such an institute which is doing so good.

There are hardly any Religious places which do what Pingalwara does, some do but then I find their office bearers take majority of the money for themselves.

Anyway I am not going to go on and on About this man, I am sure everyone has internet so go and do some surfing and Find out about this Great man who sadly passed away in 1992, I think this man’s work does the speaking I or anyone does not need to write essays about him. He shines above all and we need people like him to make our world a better place. So go and Read about this Selfless man, Know about a Kind Human being who teaches us what being a human is .

Also a Movie is made , I saw the trailer a couple of days back, I know some people here who have been so actively involved in the advertising of this movie, I would have been their at the launch of this movie but the last 3-4 weeks have been very catastrophic for me , so I could not go nevertheless do go and see this movie, know about a GOOD MAN.

Visiting pingalwara this year when I come to india is on the list , A lot of good people here are trying to raise some donations for me to carry.. It is an eye-opener to see Life as is in this home, The stories you hear , the smiling faces you see tell the whole story, I could not visit last year due to less time which again I feel is an excuse on my part , I should have made time but god willing this time for sure..

In the Title I had put the line othe amla de hone ne nabade  kissie ne teri Zaat puchni.. DOnt know what all we are running after in life, No one is going to bother what Race,Creed , color we are once we are dead.. it’s all the SAME..
