We should be lucky and Thank god for all we have .. Some need to go out in the dark and read under the street light..
Chandigarh, Sukhna Lake 2014. This young girl is trying to study in the dark as probably doesn’t have the facilities at home.. I wish – hope and pray she succeeds in everything she does, all her hard work pays.
PS:- Could not find a appropriate title, Anyone wants to give it a go..
Those who have the facility, do not know the value of education.
The irony of life 😦
My younger brother, 18 years old, gave up his schooling couple of years ago. We all tried extremely hard not to let him go forward with this decision, but he did not listen to any of us.
My mom worries a lot because of his stupidity.

Your brother will most probably become an entrepreneur par excellence. Some of the greatest business people have been school/college drop outs. One needs to have a lot of guts to refuse to be CONTAINED by the SYSTEM.

He does have an inclination toward entrepreneurship and who knows what the future holds. I hope he finds his path and reason for living.
But, at the moment he is a big headache for my parents. In our culture and society, education is given high regard and priority. It necessarily need not be formal education but it is expected from you to gain knowledge/skills of your area of interest and master.
There is popular proverb quoted by Chanakya Pandit “The life of an uneducated person is as useless as the tail of a dog which neither covers its rear end, nor protects it from the bites of insects”.

Krishna :- and i like that proverb for sure … education t least basic is a necessity because I have met a lot of RICH people , especially in uk when indians especially punjabic came in 60’s there are Millionaires here .. and when you talk to them they all say one thing in sommon that they wish they had studied .. as somewhere in there struggle they have been let down because of that .. had they studied they could have done much more

Bikram, I cannot tell you how much my parents and I tried convincing him but he just would not listen to any of us. Now, we all have accepted it as a fate and we just hope that he does something relevant, rather than wasting his life going after glamorous professions.
In our culture, the elder brother is regarded as a father, therefore considering it to be my duty I keep educating him about life by sharing my own experiences. I believe there are many things my parents cannot discuss with him due the generation gap but I understand his mentality so some extent, so I try to guide him in best way possible.
These young boys are too obsessed with a glamorous lifestyle and they are totally ignorant about the truth hidden behind it. They are living in a state of delusion, I’m exaggerating it by any means but this is the sour truth.

hmmm I can understand your thoughts .. as you say the glamourous life does effect and youngpeople think its easy to get it.. it may be easy but very difficult to maintain for sure ..
You being the elder brother well I am sure if things go wrong drastically , you will help him our and hopefully as time goes by he will understand for sure ..
but as you say its the fear factor for parents and for a elder brother like you .. WHAT IF..
I do hope and wish the very best to the young man and I do hope he succeeds in whatever he wants to do ..
Take care ..

First off, a HUGE thanks for releasing your blog back to us. I went through tremendous blog-guilt for not being able to comment right back. On this pic – well, wordless indeed. Speechless actually on the adversities faced by little kids in India. Thank you for reminding in how many ways we are all blessed!

A very thought provoking image. I would advise leaders like modi to have this stuck on his office wall somewhere as a constant remember of the challenge ahead. I would also go one step further and hand this out to all UK politicians, as in UK we also have let down so many young kids who due to poverty cannot obtain a decent education. Furthermore a reminder to all those kids here in the UK who take their education for granted, “wake up and smell the roses”. Nice post mate.
