Our nation Police- Media – Cricket – Law

It was funny reading today’s news , I read it online as the Tv channels which are supposedly very good are utter nonsense and hardly give any news. They are more into how to throw those big words at people about some incident and make it a habit to repeat it every 20-30 minutes .. the whole day long.  I could not believe what I saw the other day , during the india-Sri Lanka match which ended in a tie, during one of the overs only 5 balls were bowled.  Since the match ended in a tie that one extra ball “COULD” have been a match winner, but its a game things happen.  Had India Lost , Or won no one would have mentioned this over, but because it was a tie..  This Tv channel hurriedly put up a chat show with three or Two other supposedly cricket knowing people and Went on and on and on and onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn (I guess you get the hint) about how the umpires made a blunder and How india “COULD” have won how india was ROBBED of the win ..

I watched the show as I had nothing to do and it was more of a comedy show, I have never laughed in my life as much as I laughed at that show, what a waste of time .. there were three people talking of one incident. Each one said the SAME thing on every question.. More hilarious was each of them says “OH nothing can be done about it “, the match is over. I mean if the match is over then why spend so much time on this particular incident… wasting so much time .. when there are aplenty more reasons where debates , discussions need to be held.

Is their such a need to create such a hoo la-la, a Big issue on such incidents.  I mean let’s think of it logically (yupp I can surprise you all sometimes, talking of logic, yes you read it right.. Read on)

Had the one ball been bowled

The batsmen could have taken a Run- hit a four – hit a six and if the match went on as it did India could have won , But on the other hand the Bowler Might have taken a wicket too, the batsman might have tried to hit a six and holed out to the fielder in the deep losing his wicket,  It could have been such a good ball that the batsman had to defend it rather than take any run.. SO MANY permutation and combinations , the result could have been entirely different had any of this happened.  Yet NONE of the esteemed people sitting on the discussion table said anything about it .. OH NO India was robbed of the victory.. Thank god they did not come out with saying the umpires are BIASED against the Indian team.  or maybe they did I was so busy laughing my head off I did not listen to that part.

This is the reason why I get so angry sometimes reading other news somewhere which never ever gets mentioned, No one in the nation gives a DAMN about it,  Let me give you an example..

I have been following news about a DGP (director general Police) Jails, Mr. Shashi Kant, he is up in arms against the Drug mafia operating in Punjab jails, the drug mafia he says is backed  by some powerful people, The DGP is wanting to eradicate this menace, I don’t know what agenda he has in doing that But lets consider it he is doing so for the betterment of the society and sincerely eradicating the drug mafia,  He has been very outspoken in media talking about the connections between the drug lords and political leaders, which has ruffled quiet a lot of feathers in the political circle.. So what does the Government do I will quote THE TRIBUNE’s News

“The state government has withdrawn all three official vehicles assigned to him leaving him without any official vehicle for himself or his security officials.”

He has been criticised by the state government for airing his views openly, Instead of helping him the Govt is trying to stop him..

On the other hand there is another Top Cop, The SSP of Chandigarh who had a  community interaction in Punjab University Chandigarh to speak about efficient policing, In his interaction he had NO EXAMPLE to give about it in Real life so what he did was take examples of Films the REEL life how Amitabh bachan  does policing in “ZANJEER” or how Ajay Devgan works inside system to bring about reformation in the movie “SINGHAM”..  It is very funny that the SSP could not find any such heroism or bravado or working with full commitment while on duty for what they are being paid for in the Police force..

Such is the sad sad condition of our  police functioning , One side there is a person who MAY GENUINELY be trying to help get rid of a menace he is being stopped on the other examples are being given to work as our REEL hero’s work how is it possible to do that, I wonder.

One of the worst news That I read was two criminals who had kidnapped a child and held the 2-year-old for a ransom, ( luckily the police recovered the child within 6-7 hours which is commendable of them and WELL DONE TO THE TEAM of the officers who made it possible, Yes our police too can work miracles but only when they want to ...) Anyway that is not the reason I am talking about the Court has given a sentence of LIFE TERM to these kidnappers .. THIS I want to challenge because if you remember my post on justice for a 10 month old, the judge was reducing the sentence , from 10 to 7 or something like that years .

CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE how can this be justified in our own justice or law that a kidnapper gets a life term while a rapist who has done this deed on a 10 month old is allowed to have a reduced term..

So here I think the law is telling us NO dont kidnap kids but its ok to rape them  and leave then scared for Life.   Please all who are reading me tell me AM I an IDIOT to think that way or that I am complete mad.

ANYWAY on some good news India has qualified for the olympics in hockey, defeating france 8-1 , CHAKK TE FATTE .. and this my dear people could be something te celebrate after all HOCKEY is our national game ( i hope there are people out there who know that hockey is our national game) .. only if we spend half that much money as spent on cricket, It is indeed such stupidity and hypocracy of our people who don’t even know what the national game is since cricket has taken over us all . I am happy today to have read this news, And I will be here watching the matches played God willing India will put a better show then the multi million dollars rich Cricketers who are untouchables .. .. Well done to the indian team..

While government says equality for all .. it encourages caste divides with quota , then UP CM says vote for “Dalit ki Beti” … why doesn’t she abolish caste system if she wants dalits to improve. ?

and well lets not go about the politicians I dont blame them at all, since they are doing best to keep their chair, its a war for them and they use any way to win.. the question that needs to be asked is to the people who go and vote for them , all these khadi wearing people are the same no matter what team they are in…

they do this every 5 years and we let them do it the fault is all ours ..

    frankly speaking…what I feel…Indian Laws really proving themselves as a true “shit”… x-(

that 10month old case was really a worst I’d ever imagined…and now this kidnapping case, its really appreciable that police recovered the child so soon, but if the media has given the more coverage to the case which really needed an appreciation from the whole nation, the police department might have got some encouragement and maybe they would work properly in every case, but unfortunately it didn’t… :O

apart from all these…KASAB is still enjoying his stay in India…must be the safest place to stay 1 could ever think… 😐

yes i know the feeling and what you say is so true.

thats what i mean media is going on about that one ball not bowled in the match , whereas other things that are more important are happening in our nation and they dont give a damn, whereas the whole idea of journalism was (WAS) to get TRUE story to the people and that doesnot happen at all.

Definitely safest place for a terrorist to kill many people and enjoy life … what more can he ask for his mission is succeeded he has killed and is in heaven 🙂

Definitely questions one can find no answers for! It’s pitiful to say the least that judgements of Indian law could be so unfair and irrational, but the kind of message that they are passing, is totally unacceptable and should be boycotted.

As for cricket, if you remember, this was how the 9/11 towers were also replayed and re-replayed and re-re-replayed all over and over again for so many many days.. that is exactly what news channels do.. to capitalise and sensationalise on the moment – cricket match.. once it’s over, they get people to “discuss” on what could have been and what should have been.. just so that viewers are glued in to their TVs even after the match. Same for other types of news.

High time people raised their voices.. and the worst part is, while mackubex is correct in saying that we need educated ministers ruling our nation, it is again true that who among the educated in our country wants to run it??? Have you seen educated people coming forward to nominate themselves? They all wanna stay away from the murky lands of politics and perhaps stay safe in a software company earning lakhs… rather than risk lives in politics.

Especially in rural areas, one needs to have henchmen even if it is for self-defense. Educated people can not really have that kind of mentality or life.

yeah but at least 9/11 was a history changing moment , this stupid cricket game is nothing compared ot that , its jsut a bloody game where players are PAID to play and they are getting lakhs even if they lose , it shud be change only pay if they win , soon you will see the indian team working their arse off.

people raising their voice well that is not going ot happen either .. many of the ministers are educated they ahd all this last time as how os many YOUNG people have joined politics where are they now, havenot heard about them at all now , i guess slowly they are too turned into the same corrupt people.

Good points Bikram. You have made very valid points.

Thank God for social media: blogosphere, FB, Twitter etc. At least we have some option other than watching idiots on the idiot box. And from my experience the normal folk dish out better content than the news channels. And then there are good online newspapers and magazines who actually know what they are talking and present better news(at least they can’t put the same news multiple times 😛 ). Btw am not talking about TOI online. In spite of copying content from foreign media they can’t come up with new articles. They keep repeating the articles. Sometimes even the horoscope is repeated 😀

As for Cricket, even hating Cricket is over-hyped. All I know is once upon a time I loved this game.
Kudos to our Hockey players for playing well in spite of such poor response from fellow country-men. Hopefully Indian Olympics teams do better than what they have done previously.

Reg ppl like DGP Shashi Kant – Lets start spreading the word using FB and other media. These ppl are doing some good work and they deserve some recognition(at the very least).

Cricket is a over hyped sport in my humble opinion and other sports get a step child treatment…

As for the judgement, their logic is
Kidnap: taking child from parents, the parents will have another child, increase population so angry judge gives more term in prison
Rape : doing a child harm, can’t even remember the event when older, no scope of pregnancy…happy judges give reduced sentence and let them do the deed again.

on a serious note, The female child doesn’t count in our part of the world…the honoured male judges are just heeding traditional values.

Can a single person do the extra-ordinary and become the Shahenshah of India and take it to pinnacle of glory? Can a person do the job of sawa lakh?
    No in my opinion.

It is sickening the message that is sent, no kidnapping, bu abuse sexually, you might get a lesser term for a stupid reason like staying away from home. 😦
I am surprised you manage to sit through the endless discussion, dissection of a game on TV. 😛 You have patience.
Honest and tough cops face a bad time from the govt. I myself have a classmate who is an IG. All through his career he has been shunted form one place to another because he is an upright man and does his duty without favor. Sad.

Post match discussions are crap..They talk as if they are impeccable souls..
It’s unfortunate that the politicians do almost nothing in the country other than giving lectures and inaugurating seminars and then talk baseless matters.
People are unaware of their strength..I wish for next election nobody should cast their votes.let’s see ..
