A lot of thoughts go by ones mind when idle , today as I sat in my car to drive to work, I had this  how do I say chaos of thoughts and none matched the one that just went by it was all going in tangents, at one time I was home and the next I was thinking of Cricket or the Fast taken by Anna Hazaare. I had to literally sit down and SHAKE my head severely to bring it back in sync with normalcy :), if that is possible.

Well I am trying to jot down the thoughts now these may hurt a lot of people so I am sorry to them but as usual would ask them to think on the wider picture and logically.. The recent few events that have happened back home have been good – bad and Ugly.. I mean world cup happened I wanted to write a post on it but blogosphere is full of articles so I did not post though I had one in the drafts, The whole nation became one in that one last week of the matches , australia-Pakistan-Sri Lanka all defeated in a row thanks to some good cricket played by our team .. but other then that it was the spirit of the indians which came to the fore how we all got together, here in UK too it was evident everyone in pubs wearing the Blue shirts and cheering till throats went hoarse ..

That was the GOOD…

Then came the chain of events where Anna hazaare along with a whole lot of people took this fast to get the Govt of india to their knees , which was a Very good thing that finally the Govt. got so scared that they could not afford something happening to Anna , they had to relent to it, brings to mind the satyagraha taken by Indians against the British people but there was a STARK DIFFERENCE at that time the whole country was one but now only a handful which was a shame , Out of Billions of People just a meagre few .. I know a lot of the Intelligent people out there will say it’s a START, but I am as usual cynical start of what, Things can’t get achieved by a few going on a fast , their have to be a vast majority of people who need to give there support.  Not forgetting about the rumours that just came after the fast was broken many of the distinguished people in the group had political problems , I will not get into the details cause somewhere in my heart I knew this would happen. True there are some genuine people who want things to change but those genuine people are few, and as the poem i posted I don’t believe in the Khadi wearing leaders.   They are all the same , some have hundreds of skeletons in their cupboard , some just One but they do have.

Well I don’t want to go on and on about that , I do support the Cause started by Anna Hazare, but as I said earlier I don’t support the khadi wearing people, To me I still feel that we need to make a loud noise to make sure the DEAF hear us and that will only come true if the current generation and the one coming up behind will get together, I mean I was watching the IPL match between Kings XI and One more team I forgot the name I think it was Mumbai indians and the stadium had more people in it then the number of people who actually GENUINELY went out and supported the anti corruption Cause. That is the reality of our great nation.

That was BAD

I have so many question running around, a soldier in the army gets paid to fight for the country for which he is ready to give his life, they live in conditions where the majority of so-called Desh Bhagats wont even survive one day, What they are doing is real work then why do we start comparing a sports man as a soldier of the country as it happened in the Cricket match against Pakistan, Everyone saw the crowd there, people spent LAKHS of rupees to get a ticket to watch that match but I am sure NONE of them spent a thousand to buy a bus ticket to go to Delhi to sit with the people who were fasting.

How come none of the sportsmen who when it comes to recognition come in herds and then moan how they are paid less or not thought of , come in support.  I mean with no disrespect to the supporters of GOD of cricket Sachin Tendulkar, I am myself a fan of his and he is GOD , Why could he not have come in support and gone and sat there for a fast, I mean he is made his life, his future generations life living in india , the love and affection he has got, I do feel that someone like him Should have supported the cause and then MAYBE the cricket frenzy public would have done more and not just their are a few who can be named who are willing to take millions from the nation but give nothing in return and i say nothing BECAUSE when they lose they are not accounted for. none of them say of I wont take the match fee for this one because we lost.

True the govt has agreed to the terms of the Cause but that is it , Nothing is going to happen the govt has just agreed to put the bill in the session whether something actually takes place once passed we have yet to find out, the reason being each and every leader will have to step down or brought to justice cause they are the Khadi wearing politicians and that to bright White starched ironed ones.  If we think something will change then who are we kidding.

That is UGLY

HENCE my thought that till we ALL get together MILLIONS-BILLIONS  and make that NOISE the noise that will wake up the deaf-blind govt we have things will not change.

Yeah true on the bollywood people all they do is tweet , i mentioned crickets jsut because of the current world cup win and now the ipl going on and the amount of time and money being wasted .. I mean today is a working day and yet the stadiums are full .. dont anyone have to work ..

His fast being the right way well again I m sure a lot will throw bricks at me , No it was not the right way now anyone will get the idea go to fast and get ur wishes fulfilled but on other thought i dont mind it something had to be done …

Why do you think that the country has descended to such depths because everyone thought that it was the duty of the other to take action. But, despite the cynicism I see a ray of hope, not because I am naive but because I have no other choice. I want this nation to get better, and I will keep doing my small bit. None of the players given away the money for some good , they have got money, plots of land and so many other things. I dont mind that good luck to them but Country should always come first and when the time is there to do something for the country all these hot shots are no where to be seen.

This has always been the case with India. Albeit a few, most rich and powerful of our nation only have fancy words to speak about issues that really matter. But when it really comes to giving their support in public, they are nowhere to be seen or heard. At this moment in time, i strongly believe that it is the immensely powerful (even only if in terms of their sheer number) middle class of the indian society who hold the key to bringing about the change that everyone is hoarsely screaming around for.

    Your cynisism :
It’s a lot like the story of the baby elephant that has a rope tied around his leg. Initially the little elephant tugs at the rope to try and break free, but eventually he gives up and accepts that he cannot move beyond the range of the rope.

Years later, when the elephant has grown into a two tonne adult that could easily break the rope, he doesn’t even try because he still holds the belief that he cannot break free.
We Indians have to break free of this mind st on which our government is thriving.

Like the elephant, we often accept the limiting beliefs that we cannot change, that eventually some thing will happen and the bill might never get passed and all sorts of negative beliefs, which we tend to feed ourselves and even when someone defies all these things and goes out to do something good for the society we are always debating whether he is right , his method is right and all sorts of things. Do you have a better solution to solve this disease that is plagueing our country, when you don’t have , you don’t have the right to question what miliions in India who were and are with Anna Hazare, giving his team all the support we can give and even more.

They throw our/taxpayers’ money at them and gift prime lands too! I know some players spend them on charity, otherwise what will they do with such huge amount of money?

Never thought Anna Hazare’s fasting against corruption would kindle so much support, which shows how much we are hurt at the situation. Our politicians and others too, are spoiling our country.

Today you talk about why people don’t support Anna ? They will when, in future the sentiment of human loveand kindness transgresses the boundaries of nation and not of ‘just take care of me’ and embraces a common love for all.
Good thinking brother but till we embrace love for all, we will continue to see tendulkars and such glorified for their gift to entertain us – these gladiators are in it for themselves and not the nation else you would have seen him with Anna. – what say you?

Yeah i agree if they genuinly thought of the nation then they are the ones who can actually mobilise a vast majority of public but they dont as long as they make there money and are fine in there own home it will not matter to them… which is a shame a real shame ..

thanks ravi for a lovely comment:)

In a country made up of 40%youngsters, it needed an octagenerian to start a movement, whether he is khadi clad or not.Isnt it pathetic? The young in India is sedated by cricket and will never wake up.Total unresponsiveness has become the hall mark of Indian youth!

Paaji, how can it change the way india works .. Majority of the youngsters are wnating to come abroad, I was in delhi a few months ago and the UK and Canadian embassy had 90% youngsters in the Que, and the que was a mile long.

No one wants to work for the uplift of the nation, you know I spent 4 weeks for the charity I work for back home and It was shameful to see that out of the 100+ volunteers 70% were people from abroad, who had come to do something for the country they were born in. And Furthur more it was insulting watching the young of the India sitting on there bikes and cars outside Hooting at the young girls and ladies who had come from abroad to help the not so fortunate.

Instead of helping they were teasing and wanting to lay the girls in the group. This is the MENTALITY of the youth in india. I was there and Maybe i will send you the video which you cna put on your blog.

How can we expect things ot change when The nations own are either on drugs, or wanting to go out abroad OR watch the IPL games. Serioulsy people need to set there priorities right, Many of the people who say india is developing watch it on TV or Maybe they live in POSH areas of the city what happens all over the country no one wants to know or see.

And Yes Thanks for your help and all maybe i should put it down how you work or help to shut the people who think you do nothing.

As usual a thoughful post I hope people get the irony of it… If anyone wants hard facts then they can email me 🙂

Take care paaji and dont let such things upset you as much, its a funny world people who roam around in Air conditioned cars on the roads of India dont even know what is going outside in the heat of the nation, and Yet they have the audacity of saying we are doing wonders , at what cost they have no clue …

  42. Firstly, I am really frustrated with what’s going on in India with new scams everyday and I am really happy that someone stood up against it. Secondly, I agree with you that the start of a fight always takes place with unity of humans and I was also a little bit surprised with the lack of interest that people showed towards this anti-corruption fast. Anyways, I was really happy when Suresh Kalmadi was arrested and even more happier when someone throw “Chappals” at him ;). Let us hope that this is a start of building up of a new nation.

Very strong points Bikram, I also wonder if the movement started by Anna will be successful or not as there are a very few people behind him. Because the other side ( read corrupt) side is much stronger.

I totally agree with whatever you have said. Govt’s recent comment on freezing an army’s pay is in bad taste and it will discourage a few from joining the forces. How can the govt. be so insensitive to that category of people who fearlessly guard us and are ready to sacrifice their lives.
It really angers me that only when people pour down on streets does the Govt. take notice of things be it the Jessica Lal murder case or the recent one. Its sad to see that the conscience of our political system is dead.
