I had written a post on Farmers of our nation, had used some of the lyrics from this song in there
Peedha naale jammiya ne saadi dhur to kismat maadi
Saadiyan fasalan da kaato launde mul wapari
Peedha naale jammiya ne saadi dhur to kismat maadi
We grow crops with difficulty from day one we have bad luck
Saadiyan fasalan da kaaton launde MUL vyapari
Why does a trader put a PRICE on our crop
Aakho sarkaran nu ni saanu beche laake boli
Tell the government to sell us by an AUCTION
Assi kachche rang jehe sohniye saadi kaadi holi
Our colour is very poor , what shud we celebrate and why Holi
Assi kachche rang jehe sohniye saadi kaadi holi
Haalat uss maa wargi bachcha jamman te suk jaave chaati
Our life is like that mother, who gives birth to a child and finds she has no milk in her for him
All we have is our crop and a sickle
Meeh pave paharan te saada kotha cheyon lag janda
Rain falls on hills and our roof starts to leak
Barsat di holi nu ni das ki maane sukka tanda
The holi played by rain how we gonna stop it
WE WILL JUST DIE a SLOW DEATH Unless someone comes and lights the FIRE
Assi kachche rang jehe, sohniye saadi kaadi holi
Assi kachche rang jehe, sohniye saadi kaadi holi
Our colour is very poor , what shud we celebrate and why Holi
Crops depend on fertilisers that we carry on our backs
This YEAR ON HOLI god know how many farmers have sold themselves
Hathayar hi suttey ne ajay chalaune nahin assi bhule
We have only put our ARMS DOWN.. havenot forgotten how to use them
The mouths of our RIFLES are still open
Dont know where the looters/cheaters/thugs go after Winning the ELECTIONS
Assi kachche rang jehe sohniye saadi kaadi holi
Assi kachche rang jehe sohniye saadi kaadi holi
Our colour is very poor , what shud we celebrate and why Holi
The state of farmers in India is particularly worrying. This is a shame considering that we are predominantly an agrarian economy.

Some day, when the agricultural produce is down so much, the prices will sky rocket and large companies will enter the business of food grains, the people will repent for having ignored the agricultural sector. Because, the food grains would cost them so high then. That day is not far away.

Very sad…its the middlemen, the moneylenders in India who takes all the money…the farmers get next to nothing…the people pay through their noses….
farmers suicide has become a common occurence now…

Those words were so moving, Bikki. You know, so very often, when I put a grain of rice into my mouth, I wonder for a moment, God knows which farmer and his wife planted this – when where and how. And I just thank them for it.

But, I wish the farmer situation would change in India though I also know that it wont. We have been leashed by the US as far as our agri policy is concerned.Indian Finance Minister meets most of the trade bodies before he puts all the budget proposals together.Ever any one wondered that no FM has ever met any Farmer representative ?
Try. You might get the answer but farmers will always die an unnatural death in India.
Suicide is unnatural, isn’t it?

Farmers earn the least and suffer the most. very few schemes meant for them actually reach them. And, farmer suicides all over the country are a worrying trend.

the rich and influential farmers or land lords get the benefit of those schemes and such schemes only come when there are elctions approcaching otherwise nothing happens …
